Irreverent! Scandalous! Spicy! A devilishly satirical physical comedy targeting America’s love affair with its oldest colony: Puerto Rico.
Coming to the Cannonball Festival in Philadelphia
Sunday, Sept 25th @ 10pm
Thursday, Sept 29th @ 10pm
Friday, Sept 30th @ 530pm
Exciting news! Our show is a “BIPOC New Works Track Awardee” in Philadelphia’s amazing Cannonball Festival. This means we have received a fully produced run along side a select badass cohort of fellow BIPOC performance makers. We’re honored to be associated with Cannonball whose mission is “celebrating forward-thinking, adventurous artists who take risks, rethink the present, and imagine a better future.” We hope you will see as many of the festival’s exciting offerings as you can.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PLACE IN THE WORLD!
Featuring two mischievous bouffons played by Nathaniel Justiniano and Marisol Rosa-Shapiro, this show pulls you into a jingle and dance-filled fiesta celebrating USA’s torrid love affair with Puerto Rico. Within this kaleidoscopic fantasia you’ll visit the whole archipelago, New York City, Philadelphia, and even your own colonized mind. Watch as these charming tricksters shapeshift into Soul Train dancers, Broadway stars, trans activists, crypto bros, TaĆno warriors, Harvard graduates, tectonic plates, janitors, and hurricanes themselves.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PLACE IN THE WORLD! features our signature style of in-your-face physical comedy, lip sync, puppetry, outrageous costumes, and an anything-goes relationship with the audience to create an immersive, joyous, and sometimes disturbing rollercoaster ride of biting anti-colonial satire.
Run time is 60 minutes without intermission.
